About Us
BRINGING HIGHLIGHTED PUBLIC AWARENESS OF KOSHER DIETARY LAWS, AND ORGANIC AND NATURAL FOODS AND PRODUCTS TO EVERYONE.
The Kosher Organics Council is a worldwide organization founded in 2008 by a cross section of Rabbi's and observant lay leaders who saw the need for educating and building business and Jewish community support around the central theme of healthy and sustainable lifestyles.
The Kosher Organics Council provides individuals and businesses focused resources on the growing kosher organic and natural products market. Our organization serves as a source of advocacy for kosher dietary laws and as a center for environmental information, education and support for sustainable agriculture, natural health and wellbeing lifestyles.
Through our Green-K kosher certification services and Green-K symbol for organic and natural products, we provide the tools and techniques for businesses to reach the estimated $12.5 billion kosher market (as per the 2008 Research Report by Mintel); and the estimated $290 billion marketplace for goods and services focused on health, the environment, personal development and sustainable living (as per the Research Report by the Natural Marketing Institute).
Only those foods and products meeting the strictest standards of kosher law are permitted to display the Kosher Organics Council's trademarked Green-K kosher symbol. The Kosher Organics Council's standard to award Green-K kosher symbol equal those set for the kashrus world by the OU, the OK, and other leading kosher certifications agencies, Consumers can be assured of standards that would be acceptable in any major kosher center around the world, be it New York, Los Angeles, or Jerusalem.
At the Kosher Organics Council we are pleased to join the social, business, and environmentally responsible communities in their effort to bring more organic, natural foods and "green" products to the growing kosher marketplace, and in this way contribute to the movement for increased health and sustainability.
The Kosher Organics Council and Green-K kosher certification symbol are listed under the OLAM HATORAH universal directory of "Torah and Hesed Institutions" as a kosher supervision and certification trademark.
Kosher Organics Council and the Green-K symbol are listed by Rabbi Eliezer Eidlitz in KosherQuest the leading source of Kashrus information as a reliable kosher symbol, The Kosher Organics Council and its Green-K symbol are listed in the KASHRUS magazine's "2011 Kosher Supervision Guide" of worldwide kosher certification agencies.
